New body care and hair care additions

When it comes to body care and hair care and I am not too fussy. I do my best to avoid SLS and other nasties though. I discovered some lovely products in August and I can't wait to tell you more about them!

I have been a good girl recently and I started moisturising my body more. I usually rely on oil based body scrubs and they work wonders, but I decided to add some new products to my routine. The Elemental Herbology Watermelon & Cucumber Body Moisturiser* (£21.00) smells incredible, with fresh notes of cucumber and watermelon- gorgeous! The formula is light and non greasy, it soothes and cools the skin and... makes your tan last longer! Aloe vera and cucumber juice make this lotion a perfect refreshing treat for the skin, while organic shea and mango butters moisturise and nourish. The formula also includes Kakadu Plum Extract to protect against oxidation and Argan & Macadamia oils to repair the skin. Elemental Herbology Watermelon & Cucumber Moisturiser sinks into the skin within 1-2 minutes, leaving my skin soft and hydrated. The scent lingers on my skin for a couple of hours and it is beautiful! The pump dispenser makes it hassle free and I am currently keeping the bottle on my desk and using the product as a hand lotion.

On the rest of my body (mostly stomach and lower back), I have been using Viridian's Skin Repair Oil* (£15.16), to help with stretch marks (a pregnancy souvenir). The Skin Repair Oil was designed to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and improve skin's texture and contains a blend of organic oils, including jojoba, rosehip, calendula and more. It isn't too greasy, doesn't leave an oily film on the skin and I like to properly massage it into affected areas. After 4-5 weeks of regular use, I noticed small changes in the appearance of  my skin, especially on my back. Big stretch marks on my stomach still look the same (maybe slightly better), because they are very deep, but the ones on my back are definitely less visible. I also used it on my chest, where I had some scarring, and it really helped to fade the marks. The scent it quite strong (herbal), but I only use it at bedtime, so I don't mind. I used up the full bottle by the way, which doesn't happen too often :) I would recommend it, if you have scarring, uneven skin tone or stretch marks on your body. It won't make them disappear (nothing will), but you will notice a difference.

I got a 100ml sample of the Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash (full size £10.25) in a magazine and I am glad I decided to pick it up. It is a lovely, SLS free wash, it doesn't strip or dry out the skin and leaves it clean and fresh. The formula is enriched with natural active ingredients found in juniper, bergamot, geranium and lavender and the scent is very pleasant and refreshing. I used up most of the Super Toning Body Wash already and I will repurchase it, once I finish my other shower gels. I actually own a 'matching' Super Toning Body Oil (review here), and I am trying to finish the bottle, by using it after each shower. Both products are a perfect choice for dry skin.

The Body Shop Banana Conditioner (£4.50) is officially the nicest smelling hair product I have ever tried. It smells AMAZING! Imagine freshly mashed bananas and honey... Oh... Beautiful! It is thick and creamy and leaves my hair feeling soft, without making it greasy or weighing it down and... the gorgeous banana and honey scent lasts in my hair all day. I didn't get the shampoo because it contains SLS, but I am in love with the conditioner and I will be repurchasing it asap. It actually contains real banana puree, which makes me like it even more.
