Summer Glow: Korres Bronzing Powder and Blush

The Spring/Summer season is all about a gorgeous bronzed skin and a healthy glow. You don't have to be super tanned or layer tons of golden highlighters onto your face, but it is nice to add a little bit of colour :)

Big Green Smile currently started stocking Korres makeup and I was kindly sent a peach Korres Blush and a Bronzing Powder to try out. They are perfect for creating that summer glow.

"Velvety blush with Zea Mays powder particles, for a luminous effect and a smooth and even finish."

The Zea Mays blushin shade 18  Peach (£17.50) is a very wearable shade and looks natural on my face. My skin has a light olive tone to it, but this colour would suit medium and pale skin tones as well.
It isn't super pigmented, but that's what I like about it. I can apply it onto the apples of my cheeks, without worrying about looking like a clown. I always tend to use too much blusher :)

There is 8 shades to choose from and I think that darker shades might be more pigmented than this one. Lasting power of this beautiful blush is quite good and I usually get 8 hours of wear out of it, before it starts fading.

The formula of the Zea Mays Blush is lovely, with a velvety texture and minimal fallout. It looks slightly shimmery in the pan (and swatched), but once applied it gives a luminous finish with no visible shimmer.

The main ingredient of this product is corn starch powder (Zea mays) known for it's moisturising and nourishing properties and a soft texture.

The Korres Bronzing Powder* in shade 02 Sunglow Warm (£14.00) has a texture similar to the Zea Mays Blush, with a velvety feel to it and a luminous finish. It is also available in a lighter shade, but I went for the warmer option. I love the way it looks and feels on my skin. It is lightweight, doesn't clog pores and contains Monoi oil for deep hydration.

The finish is a perfect combination of a matte formula with a delicate luminous effect and just like the blush, it is shimmery in the pan, but looks matte once applied onto my face. You can see on the photos below, that the shimmer is barely visible in the swatches, and totally invisible on my face. It is a lovely, natural looking bronzer and I have been reaching for it nearly every day in May.

Overall, I am impressed with both products and I love their soft, velvety texture. The colour payoff is just right and the formulas are enriched with skin friendly ingredients.
I also love the packaging - it is sleek, with big mirrors inside, perfect to carry in your makeup bag.
