Sigma Resort Palette review and swatches

When it comes to eyeshadows, I am an Urban Decay lover. I tried MAC, because everybody loves it, but I was slightly disappointed. Every time I try a new brand of eye shadows, I worry that it won't compare to UD. Well... Sigma simply blew me away!!! I am seriously impressed with the quality of their formula and I have been reaching for the new Resort palette every single day since it landed on my doorstep.

First of all, the packaging is really nice and a good size for travelling. It is made of very thick card and feels sturdy. It features a big mirror inside, which is an added bonus.

Sigma Resort Palette contains eight eye shadows, a blusher, a liquid highlighter and a double ended eye liner pencil. The quality of all the products included in the palette is outstanding, especially the eyeshadows!

The eyeshadows are very pigmented and easy to apply, with very minimal/no fallout. They are also easy to blend with a blending brush. The shades include:

Muse: a satin dark grey
Fawn: shimmery cool tone gold/champagne with grey undertones
Luna: shimmery gold with rose gold sparkles
Topaz: a satin coppery brown with gold micro shimmer
Papaya: peachy coral with gold shimmer
  Moonbeam: lilac/lavender with micro shimmer
Neela: a bright turquoise/ocean blue with micro shimmer
Midori: bright lime green with micro shimmer

The standout shade for me is Neela and I fell in love with it as soon as I opened the palette. I have never seen such a beautiful shade and the pigmentation is incredible. The tiniest amount of it gives amazing colour and I keep swatching it on my hand... I also used it on my eyelids, obviously :)  Another shade I adore is Luna - a beautiful shimmery gold. It looks amazing used as a highlight under the brow bone and in the inner corners. So pretty!

You might know that I am not scared to experiment with colour, so the shades in the Resort palette are perfect for me! I can't imagine a better selection for Spring/Summer to be honest. There is perfect amount of neutrals and a couple of brights to add a pop of colour.

The eyeshadows lasted on my eyelids all day, with Urban Decay Primer Potion used as a base. There was no creasing, no fallout and very minimal fading after about 8 hours. I am really impressed and I would happily purchase more Sigma eyeshadows in the future.

The blusher in shade Heavenly is a peachy coral with a matte finish. It is very pigmented and easy to blend and lasts on my cheeks for 8-10 hours. I am very impressed with the formula, but the shape of the blusher in this palette makes it a pain to use, with a regular blush brush.

The double ended eye liner pencil is a beaut! It features two gorgeous colours: Daydream (a bright ocean blue) and Earth Goddess (a chocolate brown). The formula of the pencil is really creamy and glides onto the eyelid and waterline like a dream. I have never tried an eye pencil as creamy as this one. Amazing! Both shades lasted in my waterline for over 5 hours and on the lash line for over 10 hours.

The liquid highligther in shade Liminesce is a beautiful gold colour with a shimmery/metallic finish. It is a little bit to metallic to be used as a cheekbone highlighter in my opinion, but if you are confident about your makeup skills, you can make it work. It is a gorgeous shade and I have been using it in the inner corners of my eyes and under the brow bone. I tried it on  my cheekbones and I had to work it in with a buffing brush. This way, any foundation left on the brush makes the finish more natural. It is similar to Benefit's Sun Beam, but more pigmented and harder to blend in.

L-R: eye liner pencil in Daydream, eye liner pencil in Earth Goddess, liquid highlighter in Luminesce
Wearing Luna allover the lid and under the brow bone + Muse in the crease, blended out with Fawn.
Cheeks: Heavenly blush
With added gold highlighter in the inner corner and under the brow bone.
Let's pretend that my eyebrows are nice and tidy :) haha. I have no idea how they ended up soooo bushy and wild :O
Luna allover the lid and under the brow bone, Neela in and above the crease and in the inner corner.

Overall, the Sigma Resort Palette is perfect for Spring/Summer and very versatile. It is reasonably priced, considering it's high quality.
