L'OREAL GLAM SHINE STAIN SPLASH IN SHADES LOLITA AND MARILYN - REVIEW AND SWATCHES

Hi everyone and Happy Friday! Today, I am reviewing two L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splashes I purchased, as soon as my spending ban ended. I was really looking forward to trying them, because many bloggers raved about the formula and compared it to YSL Glossy Stains.

First of all, the packaging is absolutely beautiful. It looks really expensive and I adore the full design. Considering the affordable £7.99 price tag, they look pretty amazing! Glam Shine Stain Splashes come in eight shades and I decided to go for 101 Lolita and 103 Marilyn. I wanted a nude and a pink, so they seemed perfect.

What about the formula? The most annoying part is the poor pigmentation, they are definitely less pigmented than YSL Glossy Stains. I've heard that the formula is exactly the same as YSL's but I can't confirm that, because I haven't tried Glossy Stains :)

One layer of product sinks into my lips really quickly and looks kind of invisible. To get a noticeable layer of colour, I need at least 3 layers, preferably 5. The Formula glides on easily  and leaves my lips very glossy. Unfortunately, I can't stand the way the product feels on my lips. I am not fussy with lip products, but the L'Oreal Stain Splashes feel very uncomfortable in my opinion and leave a sticky, thick film which drives me insane! I have a love hate relationship with these.

Lolita is a pinky mauve shade and Marilyn is a bright pink, but they look slightly different on each person, depending on the pigmentation of your lips. I noticed that shade Marilyn looked much darker on my sister and very light on me. In bright light, the coverage is sheer and can look patchy (see swatches  below), but indoors and in darker light the stains look much darker. Oh, and once you apply the product to your lips, it will turn darker in 10-20 minutes, so be aware that swatching the product on your hand will not show the true colour.

Both shades lasted on my lips for over 2 hours ( including eating and drinking) so the staying power is really good! If you like lipgloss you will probably love these.

Overall, I love the packaging and the glossy effect, but I really dislike the feeling of the product on my lips and the stickiness. I know that some people absolutely love the L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splashes, so don't be put off by my review. Read more reviews and maybe swatch them instore, before buying. I wish I tried them before buying, because I really regret spending money on something I will probably never use.
